WHAT THIS REALLY IS
Not a consultation,
a transformation.

Most design consultations give you opinions for an hour, then leave you to figure it out. Designer for a Day is different — We spend the full day in your home, working through every space with you, making real decisions in real time.
By the time we leave, the furniture has actually moved. Colors have actually been chosen. You have a specific shopping list, a room-by-room plan, and the clarity to execute it — without second-guessing every decision.
Pre-visit planning call
30 minutes before your session to prioritize rooms, understand your goals, and make sure every hour of the day is spent on what matters most to you.
6–7 hours in your home
Full-day, in-person presence. We work room by room, moving furniture, testing colors, editing what's there, and building out what's missing — together.
Furniture actually moves
We don't just talk about rearrangement. We do it. You see and feel the layout before committing — no imagination required.
Decisions made, not deferred
Paint colors confirmed. Furniture gaps identified. Shopping priorities set. You leave with commitments — not a list of things to think about later.
Written summary delivered
Every recommendation, decision, and action item from the day is captured in a follow-up document delivered within 48 hours. Nothing lost, nothing forgotten.
Available anywhere
Based in Charlotte, NC — but available nationwide. Travel and accommodation quoted at cost, transparently, before you commit to anything.

COMMON QUESTIONS
Answers to what clients ask most
What exactly happens during the 6-7 hours?
We spend the day working through your home together — assessing each room, physically rearranging furniture, editing décor, making paint and finish decisions, and building a shopping list for gaps. It's hands-on, active, and focused entirely on your space. You participate the whole time — this is collaborative, not a passive observation. See the "Your Day" timeline above for a detailed hour-by-hour breakdown.
Is the $1,250 investment all-inclusive?
For clients in the Charlotte, NC area, yes — $1,250 is the full price. The planning call and written session summary are both included. The only additional cost is travel for out-of-Charlotte sessions, which is always quoted at cost and confirmed in writing before you book anything. No surprise invoices.
What's your cancelation policy?
Cancellations made more than 7 days before your session receive a full refund of the deposit. Cancellations within 7 days receive a 50% refund. Rescheduling is always accommodated at no charge with at least 72 hours' notice — life happens, and we're flexible.
Do I need to prepare anything before this session?
We'll send you a simple prep guide after booking. The main things: have your home in its normal state (no need to clean obsessively — we're looking at the real picture), gather any inspiration images you have, and know which rooms feel most urgent. The planning call 2–5 days before will handle everything else.
How far do you travel for out-of-Charlotte sessions?
Anywhere in the US.
Flights, hotel, and transportation are billed at cost — typically $200–$1,500 depending on location. Many clients find that even with travel added, the $1,250 service fee is an exceptional value compared to local boutique designers who charge significantly more for comparable experience. We'll give you a fully itemized travel estimate before you commit to anything.
What if we can't cover everything in one day?
We prioritize during the planning call so the most important areas always get covered. For larger homes with many rooms, we focus on the spaces that have the most impact — and the written summary will include notes on everything we didn't get to physically work on, so you still walk away with direction for the whole home. If needed, a second day can be booked at the same rate.
Can DFAD work as a precursor to Full-Service Design?
Absolutely — and it often does. Many clients book a Designer for a Day session first to get immediate clarity on their space, then engage EFaith Studio for virtual design or full-service work on specific rooms. If you decide to continue after your session, the day's fee counts toward any follow-on design consultation booked within 60 days.
